Mark trained at Central School of Speech and Drama. His theatre credits include; Harry in My Fair Lady (Falconer Centre, Copenhagen); Greg in The Magical Rhythms Of Ireland II; Willhelm Von Whackoff in Saucy Jack & The Space Vixens (The Venue); ensemble in the workshop production of Dancing With Shadows (directed by Frank Dunlop); Mr Myers and Jack in Carver (Arcola Theatre) directed by William Gaskill; Giorgio in Passion (Bridewell Theatre); Daniel in The Ballad of Little Jo (Bridewell Theatre); `Gruesome Engine` in Space Family Robinson (Pleasance Theatre, London); the original cast of Doctor Dolittle (Apollo Hammersmith); Simon in the original production of Jesus Christ Superstar at Lyceum Theatre (directed by Gale Edwards) where he understudied and played the role of Judas and a national tour where he played 'Jesus'; the original cast of Oliver! (London Palladium) directed by Sam Mendes ; the role of Dan in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (London Palladium); Priest in Rockula (Coliseum Theatre, Oldham); Danny in Yakety Yak (Coliseum Theatre, Oldham); Solange in The Maids (Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham); Eddie in Leave Him To Heaven (Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham) and the original cast of Miss Saigon (directed by Nicolas Hytner), where he understudied the role of Chris .

Mark is the winner of the John Lennon Award for Outstanding New Songwriter, issued by the Performing Rights Society, presented by Yoko Ono. He produced the album Pilgrim containing two of his compositions for Ruthie Henshall and has written four musicals.
