Phillip was born in Wales and trained at the Guildford School of Acting. Recent theatre credits include a National Tour of Victoria Wood’sAcorn Antiques The Musical in which he appeared as Mr. Watkins and the première of a new opera entitled The Original Chinese Conjuror (Almeida Theatre and Aldeburgh Festival). Phillip has appeared in Martin Duncan’s productions of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (choreography Stephen Mear) and The Government Inspector at Chichester Festival Theatre.

Other credits include Jerry Springer - The Opera at London’s Cambridge Theatre, where he played Elder F. Lower and understudied and played the leading roles of Dwight and God; Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd (Derby Playhouse); Saturday Night Fever directed by Arlene Phillips where he played Fusco, Al and Jay and, on many occasions, the role of Monty; Michael Blakemore’s award winningproduction of Kiss Me, Kate! at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London; Masterclass with Jane Lapotaire; The Secret Garden; Magaldi in Evita; Gerald and Bob Barking in Me And My Girl Simon Callow’s production of My Fair Lady understudying and playing Harry; the original cast of Hot Stuff (Oldham Coliseum and Leicester Haymarket); A Night At The Musicals directed by Paul Kerryson; My One And Only; Ugly Sister in Cinderella; Mother Goose; Corps; The Wizard Of Oz; Fiddler On The Roof; the workshop of David Pomerantz’s A Tale Of Two Cities (directed David Gilmore) and Carousel at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

A keen Gilbert and Sullivan fan, Phillip has appeared in The Mikado, Iolanthe and The Pirates Of Penzance under the auspices of David Steadman and Trial By Jury for the Covent Garden Festival. Phillip has sung on Friday Night Is Music Night and was a member of the Rob Mitchell Singers.

Phillip has conducted and orchestrated Let Him Have Justice for the Covent Garden Festival, has co-written and musical directed It’s Christmas, Carol! with Christopher Howard, been Musical Director for several pantomimes and accompanied various artistes in concert. He has also undertaken music work for the television programme Rent Free. Phillip has recently completed orchestrating and conducting a brand new version of Jason And The Argonauts.

For Chichester Youth Theatre Phillip was Musical Director of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (Dale Rooks). Phillip also teaches for Mountview Academy.
